He has the biggest heart and so much love to give, and he serves it up generously to anyone lucky enough to meet him. He makes you feel instantly treasured, wrapping you up in warmth in that very special Sprout way that melts you right down to the core.
Sprout is confident, affectionate, and full of character, with a sparkle in his eye and love bursting from every wag of his tail. From the very first day he arrived at Clarks Farm, he has been the star of the plate, stealing hearts left, right, and centre.

Over the past few weeks, I have found myself gravitating towards Sprout more and more, always ending up in his kennel, enjoying a snuggle or two. There is just something so comforting and kind about him. He truly cares about those around him, and being in his company makes everything feel a little bit better.
We have built such a lovely bond, and I honestly do not think his forever family yet understands just how lucky they are going to be. He is exceptional, a true heart-warmer, and a boy who loves being loved as much as people love being around him.

He really is the model greyhound when it comes to manners, and we have no doubt these golden qualities will carry straight through into his forever home. Sprout is also one of our shining stars when it comes to showing the world just how wonderful black greyhounds are. He is a regular at our Meet the Breed appointments, and every time he steps out, he sprinkles his magic like festive seasoning, winning hearts without even trying.
People fall in love not just with him, but with the entire breed after meeting him. His gentle charm, loving nature, and steady confidence make him the perfect greyhound ambassador, and he carries an invisible glow of kindness wherever he goes. Very recently, Sprout headed down to Pets at Home Maldon for the Santa Paws appeal to help spread the word about greyhounds and raise vital funds for him and his friends. Let’s just say this boy was absolute perfection, cool as a cucumber next to the Christmas sprouts.
It was a busy day filled with people, dogs, children, and plenty of excitement, and Sprout was completely unbothered. He was far more interested in collecting cuddles, fuss, and love from everyone who came to see him. Watching him so happy and comfortable out in the big wide world was heart-warming, and it really showed us just how beautifully he is going to thrive in his forever home.
Sociable, gentle, and easy-going, Sprout will slot into a wide range of homes with ease. Whether life is busy or calm, as long as he has his humans by his side, he will be one very content little sprout.
At the moment, he is sharing his kennel with the lovely Trifle, and the bond between them is as sweet as a festive dessert. He adores his greyhound friends and shows them the same care and affection that he gives to us humans. Because of this, we know he would be more than happy sharing his forever home with a calm female greyhound or even a small group of hound friends.
That said, Sprout also has an independent side and would be just as happy being the only dog, soaking up all the fuss and cuddles for himself like the star of the dinner table.
Sprout is a total people dog at heart and gives his love freely to everyone he meets, big and small. He would be perfectly suited to a home with dog-savvy children who are comfortable around larger dogs, as his kind and gentle nature makes him a wonderful family companion.
We would just recommend confident children who understand that greyhounds can be a little clumsy with their long legs and limited spatial awareness. He would also be perfectly content in a calm adult-only home, snoozing the days away and being adored for the sweet, affectionate boy that he is.
During his dog test, Sprout showed us exactly what we already knew, that he is an absolute angel through and through. Calm, polite, and beautifully well-mannered, he walked side by side with Blossom like the perfect gentleman, steady and relaxed with his tail wagging the whole way. It was a joy to watch him, taking everything in his stride and showing just how kind and balanced he truly is. His gentle confidence shines through in every single thing he does.
Sprout really is a once in a lifetime companion, the kind of dog who gives love so freely that you feel like the most special person in the world when you are with him. He is kind, loyal, endlessly gentle, and full of warmth, the sort of boy who makes every day feel brighter and cosier.
