Meet Piggy, our very own little Piglet with a heart far bigger than she realises and enough love to make every day feel warm and cosy. This girl is actually perfection, and that is not an understatement. From the minute she walked through our doors, she has been the most well-behaved, loving, and kind-hearted girl.
It has been such a pleasure being around her and getting to know her. This girl is so full of heart and unbelievably caring, a proper little honey pot of love who makes everyone feel instantly safe and adored.
It was truly love at first sight when this girl hopped off the van and immediately pressed herself into my body wanting a full on hug. She has since greeted everyone she has met with her signature Piggy lean of love, and let’s just say it is a huge hit with everyone because it instantly makes people fall head over trotters for her. She definitely became the biggest love bug in the kennels within seconds of arriving.
With those beautiful eyes, that perfect personality, and a heart absolutely bursting with love to give, Piggy trotted her way straight into all of our hearts without even trying. This lovely lady is more than ready to leave her little pawprints all over the hearts of one very lucky family and snuggle her way right into their lives like she has always belonged there.
Overflowing with love and charm, Piggy is a true cuddlebug through and through, always eager to share her heart with anyone fortunate enough to meet her. From the very first moment, you will be completely smitten with this sweetheart. Her gentle, friendly nature and sensitive soul make her the kind of hound who feels like a lifelong friend from the very beginning. She regularly joins us for our Meet the Breed appointments, and honestly, it is easy to see why she is the perfect representative for the breed and a true little ambassador of love. With her loving nature, calm confidence, and gentle ways, she shows new adopters exactly how wonderful life with a greyhound can be.
She melts every single heart she meets the moment she softly rests her head in your lap or leans directly into your body with pure Piggy devotion, almost like she is giving you the biggest cuddle in the Hundred Acre Wood. You genuinely cannot help but fall under her spell and feel completely smitten with her. She is simply too adorable for words and far too loving not to fall head over trotters for.
Piggy is a confident and self-assured girl who takes everything in her stride, moving through life with an open heart and a wagging tail. Her easy-going and adaptable nature means she would suit such a wide variety of home environments. She is the kind of girl who fits right in wherever she lands, sprinkling her warmth and love into every corner of life. We honestly have no doubt this sweetheart will be snapped up in no time because she really is everything people dream of in a greyhound companion.
She would thrive in a busier household just as happily as she would in a quieter one, as long as she has her humans by her side and somewhere cosy to curl up afterwards. Always ready for a new little adventure or a peaceful afternoon snooze, Piggy floats through life with a heart full of love and comfort. She really is absolute perfection, and we know she will settle into home life just as effortlessly as she has settled into life here at the kennels.
Piggy is currently sharing her kennel with Prince, and she is more than happy to share both her space and her affection with him. Piggy really grounds Prince when he becomes overwhelmed in certain situations, and she has been the most wonderful little friend to him. She gets along beautifully with her fellow greyhounds, happily sharing her heart and calm energy with every dog around her. We truly think she would love a home with another greyhound or two to keep her company, as she clearly enjoys the comfort and companionship of her hound friends.
That said, Piggy is also a proper people dog at heart, and her greatest love will always be her humans. She would be just as happy as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the cuddles, fuss, and affection for herself like the little cuddle piglet she is. Whether she is part of a pack or the centre of her humans’ world, she will be perfectly content as long as she is surrounded by love.
Piggy would absolutely adore being part of a family and would happily live alongside dog-savvy children. She gives her love so freely that any human, big or small, who is ready to receive it will find themselves blessed with the most devoted and affectionate companion. I can so easily picture her trotting along on school runs, tail wagging happily as she greets everyone she passes before heading home for cuddles on the sofa and a long cosy snooze.
At the same time, Piggy would thrive just as beautifully in an adult-only home where she can enjoy calm days, peaceful routines, and all the affection from her favourite people. At the end of the day, she truly just wants to love and be loved in return, and she pours that love into everyone lucky enough to know her.
During her dog test, Piggy was an absolute little star and handled everything with such grace and sweetness. She took us all by surprise with just how polite, calm, and wonderfully mannered she was. Gentle, confident, and relaxed in her approach, she took the whole experience completely in her stride. Blossom took to her straight away, and the two of them happily walked side by side without a single issue, almost like two best friends out for a peaceful wander together.
Piggy did find some very small dogs a little confusing at first, but that is completely normal for many greyhounds. We have tested her a couple of times now, and every single time Blossom has given her the very special sniff of approval, which truly is a rare honour reserved only for her favourite hounds. So it is official, Piggy has earned the Blossom stamp of approval and wears it proudly like the little sweetheart she is.
Piggy is everything you could ever hope for in a greyhound and so much more. She is kind, gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet confidence, with a heart that feels endless in the amount of love it has to give. She has that rare ability to make every day feel brighter, every cuddle feel warmer, and every house feel more like home.
Whoever is lucky enough to welcome this beautiful girl into their life will gain not only a best friend but a constant source of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
