Meet Oakley, our little oak-hearted wonder who will leaf you completely smitten from the moment you meet him. Firmly rooted in kindness and calm, this boy is the very picture of warmth and affection.

Oakley is a loving, gentle soul with a heart that could grow an entire forest of love. He gives the very best cuddles, stands proudly with confidence, and carries a sweet, sensitive spirit that makes everyone feel instantly at ease.

One glance into his soft, trusting eyes and you’ll know he’s the kind of companion who changes your world in the gentlest, most magical way.

Oakley is nothing short of exceptional. Adored by every single one of us at the kennels, he has blossomed into the most affectionate, social, and easy-going boy. He forms strong, meaningful bonds with both humans and his greyhound friends, and he loves everyone with the same wholehearted devotion.

There is not a single bad bone in this boy’s body. He’s thoughtful, kind, and always tuned in to the emotions of those around him. If your day is heavy, Oakley will be the first to lean into you, offering one of his famous comforting cuddles. It is almost as if this sweet boy has his own gentle wisdom, always knowing when someone needs him most.

Despite his gentle nature, Oakley also has the most delightful fun-loving side. He adores his toys, loves a cheeky play, and often breaks into the happiest zoomies when he’s excited for fuss. It is impossible not to smile watching him dance around with joy, his little tail swishing like the wind in the leaves.

And then, the moment he’s done, he settles straight back into gentle Oakley mode, leaning in for snuggles as if to say, “I’m here, and I love you.” His blend of playfulness and calm makes him such a well-balanced and heart-melting companion.

Oakley is incredibly people-focused and thrives on love, reassurance, and close connection. He’s always ready to be near his humans, quietly soaking up affection and offering his own in return.

His loving nature shines so brightly that it warms everyone around him like a little oak tree in the sunshine. Confident, devoted, and endlessly charming, Oakley has a rare gift for making people feel safe, loved, and deeply appreciated. You simply melt under his gentle gaze and soft, loving presence.

Oakley settles beautifully into routine and will be a dream in home life. He’s calm in his kennel, tidy, patient, and so easy to care for every day. His innate good nature and gentle spirit make him a companion who will stand by your side through everything, always offering comfort, joy, and endless love.

This boy is truly one of a kind. He’s a gentle giant in heart, a treasure of a soul, and a once-in-a-lifetime companion who is ready to plant himself firmly in the hearts of his forever family.

Whoever adopts Oakley will be gaining a best friend who will love them with every branch of his being. He gives his whole heart without holding back, and he deserves someone who will cherish him just as deeply.

With Oakley by your side, life will feel brighter, safer, and endlessly full of love. He is truly the acorn of something wonderful.

Oakley has settled into life here at Clarks Farm beautifully. From the moment he arrived, it felt as though he had already planted his roots with us, and he has built such strong, heartfelt bonds with all the staff. He’s a joy to look after, always gentle, always affectionate, and always ready to brighten the day with his oak solid charm.

He gets on wonderfully with all the other hounds and has never once struggled to share his space. In fact, this boy is such a sweetheart that he often helps new arrivals settle in, guiding them with his calm, caring nature.

One of his funniest quirks is that Oakley loves a little chat. If breakfast is even a minute late or we’re slow getting the leads ready, he’ll be sure to let us know in his wonderfully dramatic Oakley way. His chattiness is full of character and never fails to make us smile, even if it does give us the occasional early morning headache.

Oakley has had a few female kennel mates during his time here, and he has adored each one. He’s social, friendly, and blends so naturally into any greyhound group that we know he would be more than happy living with a calm female companion or even a small pack. He’s supportive, gentle, and always brings comfort to the hounds around him.

But as you have no doubt noticed, Oakley is incredibly people motivated. Humans are the centre of his world, and he blossoms most when he has love, reassurance, and plenty of cuddles. For this reason, we know he would be just as happy as the only dog in the home, soaking up every bit of affection and being the shining oak leaf in his humans lives. No matter where he plants himself, with humans who adore him he will thrive.

Oakley loves everyone big and small and would be happy in a home with older dog savvy children who understand that even the most loving oak tree needs some quiet moments to rest. He would enjoy having little friends to play with, snuggle with, and follow around the house. With his loving heart, family life would suit him so well.

At the same time, Oakley would also be perfectly content in an adult only home or one with teenagers where he can snooze, sunbathe, and be doted on as the gentle, affectionate boy he is. His easy going nature and deep love for humans mean he can adapt to a wide range of home environments as long as his humans love him endlessly.

Now you might be wondering why this gorgeous, gentle boy is marked as orange on his assessment. The reason is simply that Oakley needs a little support when it comes to other breeds.

During his dog test with Blossom, he was very eager, overwhelmed, and unsure how to handle his excitement. He resorted to barking because he didn’t know what else to do. We kept things calm, walked away, and made sure he had no negative experiences.

Because I saw so much potential in him, I took him to the park to see how he would cope in a real life setting. Oakley did really well, showing that he can walk past other dogs at a distance, sniff around, toilet, and enjoy the world.

His little bucket does fill quickly, and once it is full he finds things harder but this is completely understandable. He is not a reactive dog, he is simply a dog who gets over aroused when there is too much going on around him and needs guidance to understand the world is safe.

Oakley’s first response is to bark, back up, or do a little spin. But the fact he backs up tells us everything he is unsure rather than wanting confrontation. With patience, slow introductions, reassurance, and time, I know this boy will grow in confidence.

This part of him is only a tiny leaf in a giant oak tree of goodness and should never overshadow how incredible he is. He will thrive with someone confident and loving who can show him that other dogs are not scary and that the world is a wonderful place. Quiet walks, gentle environments, and kind humans will help him flourish beautifully.

Oakley has every single trait you could ever wish for in a forever companion. His heart is enormous, his devotion is unwavering, and his love for humans runs deep.

Whoever adopts Oakley will gain the most loyal, affectionate, once in a lifetime best friend a true oak of stability, joy, and comfort.

Let Oakley take root in your heart and you will grow a lifetime of love together.
