Meet Mr Buckles, the boy who will have you buckling up for a lifetime of love from the very first cuddle. This gorgeous lad is the ultimate lovebug, bursting at the seams with charm, energy, and a truly endless helping of affection.
Mr Buckles never misses a chance to show how much he cares whether that is with a gentle lean against your leg or carefully buckling his head into your lap for the softest snuggle.
Mr Buckles came to us after the homing kennels he originally came from sadly closed down. He had been struggling as the only hound within the home, and it was clear he needed a companion to help him feel properly settled and secure. He was brought to us so we could find him the perfect home with another dog, somewhere he can fasten himself in and feel safe, happy, and completely at ease.
Coming into kennel life was understandably overwhelming at first. He was very quiet, keeping himself to himself and not showing much of his personality. But we knew that with time, patience, and trust, this sweet boy would slowly unbuckle his worries and let us see the real him.
It did not take long, and with the help of his new boyfriend Terry, Mr Buckles began to show us exactly how much of a sweetheart he truly is. It still makes me smile that he was the only greyhound happy to kennel with Terry, who is a very bouncy and over-the-top puppy.
Opposites really do attract, and Mr Buckles adores Terry’s quirky ways. It shows just how kind and open-hearted he is, as not many boys are happy to pair up with other boys in kennels, but Mr Buckles simply gets along with everyone and everything he meets. He has the biggest heart and so much love to give, and once he has clipped himself onto you, he is yours in the most loyal and gentle way.
Mr Buckles is confident, affectionate, and full of character, with a sparkle in his eye and love bursting from every wag of his tail. Beneath his charm is a deeply sensitive and loving soul. He forms strong bonds with the people he trusts, and his happiness truly comes from being close to those he loves most.
Life with him will be full of warmth, laughter, and love that fastens itself around your heart and stays there. He gives his whole heart once he feels at home, mixing playful bursts with the softest affection.
He is every bit the classic loving male greyhound, soppy, soft-hearted, and just a tiny bit ditzy at times in the most endearing way. His fun-loving side is perfectly balanced with his easy-going ways.
He will happily have a quick zoom before curling up for hours of snoozing, completely content. There is absolutely a sofa out there with his name stitched into the cushions, ready for long naps, sweet cuddles, and a lifetime of comfort where he can buckle down and relax.
Over the past weeks, I have found myself gravitating towards Mr Buckles more and more, always ending up in his kennel enjoying a snuggle or two. There is something so comforting and steady about him.
He truly cares about those around him, and being in his company makes everything feel calmer and kinder. We have built such a lovely bond, and I honestly do not think his forever family yet understands just how lucky they are going to be.
Mr Buckles makes the world a better place simply by being in it. He will slot so easily into your routine, always nearby, quietly keeping an eye on you and making sure you are okay. He is not demanding or pushy. He simply offers his love openly and gently, and that makes it feel even more special. Whoever gets to call Mr Buckles theirs will soon realise that life feels warmer, softer, and far more secure once you have buckled your heart to his.
Mr Buckles has settled into life here at Clarks Farm as if he has always been part of the family, and it has been such a joy fastening ourselves to him and watching him slowly feel safe and secure. From the moment he arrived, he slotted in so perfectly and so smoothly that we almost forgot he was new, as though he had already buckled himself into our routine.
He is super chilled out in his kennel, never making a fuss and always happy to wait his turn, calm, clean, and content. He truly is the model greyhound when it comes to manners, and we have no doubt these golden qualities will carry straight through into his forever home once he is all buckled in there too.
His previous family spoke so highly of how incredible Mr Buckles was in the home. The only thing he was missing was that special canine companionship. It is such a huge plus that he already knows the ins and outs of home life, and we truly believe he will slot back in as though he never left, buckling himself right back into sofa life.
He was happy, relaxed, and beautifully behaved on his walks, and it is clear he was made for home comforts. His gentle charm, loving nature, and steady confidence make him the perfect greyhound ambassador, and he carries an invisible buckle of kindness wherever he goes.
Sociable, gentle, and easy-going, Mr Buckles will settle into a wide range of homes with ease. Whether life is busy or calm, as long as he has his humans nearby and another sighthound to lean on, he will be one very content boy.
At the moment, he is sharing his kennel with the lovely Terry, and as you already know, they have bonded so well. He absolutely adores his greyhound friends and shows them the same care and affection that he gives to us humans. Mr Buckles truly needs to live with another sighthound, as in his previous home, he struggled without that canine best friend by his side.
There is something other hounds give him that we simply cannot, and that extra layer of comfort helps him feel fully secure and able to be himself. He is not picky at all, he happily buckles up beside excitable youngsters or calmer older hounds and gets on with them all.
Mr Buckles gives his love freely to everyone he meets, big and small. He would be perfectly suited to a home with older dog-savvy children who are comfortable around larger dogs, as his kind and gentle nature makes him a wonderful family companion.
He would also be beautifully content in a calm adult-only home, snoozing the days away and being adored for the sweet and affectionate boy that he is. I do think he may especially enjoy an adult-only home where he can be the centre of his humans’ world alongside his new hound brother or sister, all safely buckled together. He is such a chilled-out boy who enjoys the simple pleasures in life, soft beds, gentle walks, and quiet cuddles.
During his dog test, Mr Buckles showed us exactly what we already knew, that he is an absolute angel through and through. Calm, polite, and beautifully well-mannered, he walked side by side with Blossom like the perfect gentleman, steady and relaxed with his tail wagging the whole way.
It was a joy to watch him, taking everything in his stride and showing just how kind and balanced he truly is. Having already seen other breeds in his previous home, he has had a wonderful head start in his social skills, and he handles new encounters with quiet confidence.
Mr Buckles really is a once-in-a-lifetime companion, the kind of dog who gives love so freely that you feel like the most special person in the world when you are with him. He is kind, loyal, endlessly gentle, and full of warmth, the sort of boy who makes every day feel brighter and cosier just by being nearby.
There is a home out there waiting to buckle him in for good, a place with a soft sofa, a lovely hound friend, and humans who will treasure him as much as he deserves.
When that day comes, and Mr Buckles finally settles in for good, his forever family will realise they have truly buckled up the greatest gift of all.
