Crisp is a gentle and sweet boy who has very quickly captured my heart, as well as the hearts of the rest of the team here at the kennels. His sensitive soul and kind heart are truly one of a kind, and he will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts.
From the moment he arrived, it was clear that Crisp was a timid soul unsure of his new surroundings and a little overwhelmed by the world around him. But day by day, we’ve watched him slowly start to crisp up—revealing more of his lovely personality as he learns to trust, feel safe, and take comfort in the humans around him.
It’s been such a joy and a privilege to watch this special boy blossom. Being part of his small, trusted circle is something I feel genuinely grateful for.
Crisp isn’t the kind of dog who will show his full personality straight away, not at the first meeting, or even the second. But we know that the right people will look beyond his nervousness and see the incredible companion he truly is.
Once that bond is formed, Crisp becomes a loyal, loving, and affectionate friend—the kind of dog who offers quiet comfort and deep, meaningful companionship.
There is something truly special and rewarding about building a relationship with a dog like Crisp. His love isn’t given lightly, and that makes it all the more meaningful.
He has a calming presence and a way of making you feel instantly at ease, whether he’s quietly lying beside you or gently leaning in for head scratches. He’ll never be the loudest or the boldest in the room, but he’s always there with quiet and unconditional love.
Crisp’s laid-back nature means he takes life at his own gentle pace, and that’s exactly how he should be allowed to live. He’s not one to rush, but with time, patience, and kindness, we know his playful side will begin to shine.
Already, we’re seeing glimmers of cheekiness and curiosity—small but special signs that he’s beginning to feel more confident and at home. We know that in the right forever home, with the right people by his side, Crisp will truly come into his own.
This boy is one of life’s quiet joys. He appreciates the simple things—sleeping, slow strolls, and gentle fuss from someone he trusts. He doesn’t need grand gestures or busy days to feel loved—just calm, kind-hearted humans who will give him the time and space to settle. In return, he’ll give you his whole heart.

He’s an extraordinary hound with one of the softest hearts we’ve ever known, and it’s easy to see why he’s so deeply adored by everyone here at the kennels.
Crisp is looking for a home with people who truly understand nervous or anxious hounds. He carries a deep uncertainty about life and the unknown, which is completely understandable given his sensitive nature. But with the right support and a calm, loving environment, we know this gorgeous boy will slowly begin to thrive.
Because of his more timid personality, a peaceful home is essential for Crisp to feel safe and secure. A busy household especially one with young children might feel overwhelming and cause him to retreat into himself, hiding away that lovely little sparkle we’ve come to adore.
Instead, he would do well in a gentle, understanding home with adults or older, calm teenagers who can offer him the patience, comfort and kindness he needs.
He would also make the perfect companion for a retired couple looking to welcome a calm and gentle soul into their life. Crisp has so much love to give, and he’ll share it freely in the right setting.
We believe he would truly blossom in a home with another hound or two. He is currently kennelled with Candy, and their friendship brings him so much comfort. She gives him the quiet confidence he needs day to day, and he often looks to her for guidance and reassurance when things feel a bit too much.
Like a perfect pair of crisps in a packet, some dogs just bring out the best in each other and Candy has done just that for him. Another calm, confident hound in his forever home could help guide him through the world and show him it isn’t such a scary place after all.
That said, Crisp may also be able to live as the only dog, but only in a very quiet, calm home with experienced, understanding humans who can give him the steady love and support he needs.
During his dog test with Blossom, Crisp lit up. His face came alive the moment he spotted her, and he couldn’t wait to go over and say hello. His tail didn’t stop wagging, and he looked so proud of himself it was truly lovely to see.
He was calm, polite, and very social throughout, showing how happy and comfortable he is around other dogs. We believe he could even live with other breeds, as long as they’re gentle and confident enough to show him the way.
Other dogs really do make life easier for Crisp, so whether it’s another sighthound or not, we feel strongly that canine companionship could help this boy feel more at ease with the world.
Crisp would also be best suited to a more rural or quieter home setting. The busyness of a city with loud sounds, heavy traffic, or crowds would likely be far too much for his gentle soul.
What he truly dreams of is a soft, simple life filled with calm walks, peaceful naps, slow introductions, and lots of love.
Crisp is full of sweetness, softness, and quiet courage but this will only reveal itself in a home where he feels completely safe. Anyone lucky enough to welcome this boy into their heart must be prepared to give him time to build trust. But we promise that when that trust is earned, what comes next is something truly beautiful.
