When she got off the van, I was like oh my god, she’s so little and I couldn’t believe the dog in front of me was truly a greyhound, just the smallest buttercup in the field.
Her trainer told me she was a very special girl to everyone at the kennels, and they were all very sad to part ways with her, trusting us to find the perfect patch for this precious Buttercup to grow in. It was clear straight away why she was such a kennel favourite, she is the definition of an adorable love bug with the softest butter heart.
Being around her is one of the best feelings in the world, she really is a feel-good hound who spreads Buttercup joy wherever she goes. We all adore her, and we are loving every single minute spent with this little bloom.

After her bursts of playing, cuddling, and socialising, she settles back into true greyhound mode, happily snoozing the day away once her Buttercup batteries are recharged.
Her easy-going and adaptable nature means she would suit a wide variety of home environments, as she is the kind of girl who plants herself firmly wherever she lands and simply blooms.
We have no doubt this sweetheart will be snapped up quickly, because a Buttercup like this does not stay single for long. She is confident and outgoing and would do very well in busier environments, totally unfazed by the world around her.
As long as she has her humans beside her, Buttercup is ready to take on any new adventure with a wagging tail and an open Buttercup heart. She really is absolute perfection, and we know she will settle into home life just as effortlessly as she settled into life here at the kennels.
At the moment, Buttercup is kennelled with Comet, and the two of them get on well, even if he sometimes looks like he is simply tolerating her cheeky Buttercup antics. She is very social with other greyhounds and would be more than happy to share her forever home with one or two hound friends to frolic alongside.
That said, Buttercup is also a true people dog at heart and would be just as happy as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the cuddles and attention for herself like the centre Buttercup she is.
She is independent, confident, and more than ready to be the shining Buttercup in her new family’s world. Buttercup would love to be part of a family and would happily live alongside dog-savvy children. Because she loves giving enthusiastic and bouncy cuddles, she would need children who are comfortable around lively dogs and who can enjoy her Buttercup affection as much as she loves giving it.
Buttercup gives her love freely to any human who is ready to receive it, spreading Buttercup sweetness wherever she goes. She would also be equally happy in an adult-only home, so long as her humans adore her just as much as she adores them.
During her dog test, Buttercup was absolutely perfect. She was very happy to see Blossom and Blossom was just as excited to see her, clearly sensing those good Buttercup vibes. The two of them walked up the road together side by side, sniffing the same spots as well as each other with no issues at all.
It is clear that Buttercup’s love extends to other breeds too, as she was one of the most comfortable and confident hounds with Blossom, earning multiple Blossom sniffs of approval, a true badge of honour.
Buttercup is an all-around social girl who spreads sweetness into every corner of her life. She is loving, caring, and full of that happy-go-lucky Buttercup spark we all adore. We are completely head over paws for her, and it is impossible not to be.
