Anton is a lovable, gentle boy with a heart as big as can be. He has the sweetest nature and the kindest soul, and there’s something truly special about the way he makes you love him from the moment you meet him.
He is one of the most affectionate dogs we’ve ever known – he loves to be loved, and just as much, he loves to share that love with everyone around him.
Anton is easy-going and friendly, and there’s a calmness about him that instantly makes you feel at ease when you’re with him. He has so much charm and is such a handsome boy – just look at that gorgeous face.
He’s stunning inside and out and has a natural way of brightening up any room he walks into. Bringing joy to those around him seems to be in his nature. His love for life and for people is infectious – it’s impossible not to smile in his company.
Since arriving here, Anton has settled in as if he’s always been part of our little family. He’s adjusted beautifully, quickly winning over both staff and the other hounds. There’s simply no resisting his charm and his warm, loving heart.
He’s the kind of dog you naturally turn to when you need a cuddle or a bit of comfort. He has that special way about him that makes you feel seen and loved.
Anton is an easy-going boy who’s happy to spend most of his day snoozing or sunbathing. After his walks and meals, he’s more than content to relax and settle down without a fuss.
His affectionate and gentle nature makes him the perfect companion, and we have no doubt he’ll adapt to home life with ease. We can already picture him finding his perfect spot on the sofa and making it his own.
As a typical male greyhound, Anton is loving, laid-back, and wonderfully adorable. But he also has a cheeky, playful side that brings such balance to his personality.
He’s a happy-go-lucky hound with a real zest for life, and we know he’ll be up for plenty of fun and adventures in his forever home. He’s confident in himself and in his humans, and he truly thrives on the love he receives.
Anton’s energy is uplifting, and he has a way of making a world of difference just by being there. He’s quickly becoming a favourite here at the kennels, and once you meet him, you’ll understand exactly why.
Anton is an adorable, loving soul who makes the world a better place simply by being part of it, and we love absolutely everything about him.
Anton has been marked as a yellow due to having a slightly higher prey drive than some of our other hounds. This is very natural for greyhounds, and for Anton, it just means that fast, sudden movements can catch his attention.
It’s nothing to worry about and certainly not his fault – it’s something easily managed once he’s settled into a home and begins getting used to the outside world. Because of this, Anton would benefit from someone who feels confident working with him on some basic training and helping guide him through these early adjustments.
This part of Anton’s personality is only a tiny piece of who he is and really shouldn’t put anyone off. It’s not something that will hold him back at all, especially once he’s given a little time, patience and positive guidance.
Sadly, being a black male greyhound can already be a disadvantage when it comes to finding a home, and we’d hate for this to be another reason he’s overlooked. With security and support from his humans, Anton will soon learn that small furries aren’t all that interesting after all.
During his dog test, Anton did very well. He was polite when meeting Blossom and happily had a sniff to say hello. When she moved, he became a little more interested, but as soon as he realised it was still her, he calmed right back down and walked up the road alongside her with no issues.
This just shows that with consistent and positive socialisation, Anton will continue to grow in confidence around dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Like many dogs, he might find off-lead dogs a bit overwhelming, especially the unpredictable ones, so a home right next to a busy dog park might not be the best fit. That said, Anton has plenty of confidence, and we’re sure that once he settles into a loving home environment, these behaviours will calm down, as they so often do.
At the moment, Anton is sharing his kennel with the lovely Freya, and they get on very well together. He’s more than happy to share his space with other hounds and would enjoy the company of a calm female greyhound in the home.
He’s also very content on his own and has happily kennelled solo, soaking up all the love and attention for himself – so he could just as easily be the only dog in his new home.
Anton would suit a home with older, dog-savvy children, teenagers, and adults. A home with very young children might not be the best match, simply because of his slightly higher prey drive.
That said, he absolutely adores little humans and has met a few here at the kennels, where he’s always been happy and comfortable in their presence. With the right family environment, Anton will truly thrive and bring so much joy and love into the home.
When Anton first arrived with us, he was quite excitable and could be a bit strong on the lead. We’ve since fitted him with a harness, and he has been an absolute pleasure to walk – he hasn’t pulled once since. We would love for this to continue in his forever home, just to give him that extra support and comfort while he’s still adjusting to life outside the kennels.
Anton is truly a special boy with so much love to give. He just needs the right home – one where he can feel safe, understood, and cherished. With a patient and confident owner by his side, he will bring endless joy, loyalty, and companionship to his forever family.
Whoever is lucky enough to welcome Anton into their life will be gaining a best friend in every sense of the word. He is one of a kind, and we can’t wait for him to find the loving home he so deserves.
