Though Kid came to us with a close bond to his kennel mate Ruby, who has since been adopted, he’s shown incredible adaptability. He has blossomed with confidence and independence, displaying a resilience that speaks to his character.
Watching him grow in confidence has been a joy and a privilege, and every day spent caring for him has been an absolute pleasure.
There truly isn’t a single fault to be found in Kid. His sweet, friendly, and loyal nature makes him an ideal forever companion, and we’re certain that he will bring immense joy to the lucky family who welcomes him into their home.

Recently, our wonderful kennel hand Hope took him out for a socialization trip outside the kennels, where Kid encountered various breeds, traffic, and children. Unfazed by it all, he took everything in stride, revealing his calm, confident nature in every situation.
His ease and confidence shone through again at our Halloween Walk along the promenade, where he was wonderfully behaved and comfortable in the busy atmosphere. Kid’s confident and well-mannered demeanour is truly one of the many special traits that make him a joy to be around.
Currently, Kid is sharing a kennel with our lovely long-stay resident, Bronte. Kid’s respect and kindness towards his greyhound friends are unmatched—whether it was Ruby, his original kennel companion, whom he adored, or now Bronte, he has shown warmth and respect.
Kid would love to live with a female greyhound in his forever home, though he’s equally happy and independent on his own. This independence, combined with his love for human attention, means Kid would thrive as a solo pet or with a canine friend, as long as he has his humans nearby to share his love.
He has also impressed us with his resilience and growth over time. During his initial dog test, soon after his arrival, he showed a few signs of nervousness, which was understandable. After settling in and lowering his stress levels, we tested him again, and he performed wonderfully, calmly walking alongside Blossom.
Watching him pass his dog test was a proud moment for us all, it was heartwarming to see him relaxed and comfortable. As with all greyhounds, he will benefit from continued positive socialisation in his new home to stay relaxed around other breeds, but his progress shows he’s well on his way.
This lovely boy is so gentle and affectionate that he would be a fantastic addition to any family, including one with children. Kid’s friendly, social, and calm demeanor makes him an ideal companion for people of all ages. He’s the kind of dog you can picture joining in on school runs, playing with children, or simply being a comforting presence in the home.
Whether he joins a family environment or an adult-only household, Kid will adapt with ease and bring joy to everyone around him.
We love having Kid here with us, and each day with him is a blessing, but we are all so excited for the day he finds his forever family.
